This piece is the result of participating in a fun show titled “Ode to a Sandwich.” The BLT is classic, perfectly balanced and undoubtedly holy. Rather than a rendering of the sandwich, it need to be treated it like a religious icon with its parts displayed in glory. Memories of Byzantine religious paintings inspired me.
