Study in Grobv
Cocky
We were walking the boardwalk, headed to a geyser, when the beautiful fall colors sparkled and stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes that’s all it takes: the bend in a river or creek, the warm sun shining, and fall colors. Oil on board, 6 x 8 inches.

Yellowstone Fall
Sometimes I struggle to find a location to paint, despite the amazing places around me. For this little study, I Googled, looked at maps, and drove around for a while. Then there was this beautiful little barn hit with morning light and a perfect spot to pull off the road to capture it. Gouache on watercolor paper, 4 x 6 inches.

Dizzy by Starlight
The night before we scoped out the location of the old sugar factory turned storage for army surplus. We knew we only had about an hour to paint at the end of a fun and challenging week. I was struck by how the light hit the buildings and the mound of random items near them. At the 2025 Bingham Arts Plein Air Paint Out Exhibition “Surplus” received the 2nd place award. In private collection. Gouache on illustration board, 5 x 7 inches.

I snuck out of the house before anyone was awake and realized as I got to my car that I had left the keys inside. Despite that, I still made it out on a hot Saturday morning in July to the Snake River Canyon. I love the layers that the lighting created and how they created distance. Gouache on illustration board, 7 x 5 inches.

Summers were spent in Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton growing up. Campfires, wildlife, sunburns, and the mountains. The statuesque peaks firmly in the ground and piercing the sky, I look to you and remember. Acrylic on pressed paper board, 10 by 8 inches.
