Harvest Moon Exhibition

I have these two smaller works in the upcoming Harvest Moon exhibition at Full Moon Gallery. The first is from a series that I am currently working on that I refer to as “From the Garden.” I have been working on smaller still life pieces focused on fruits and vegetables grown in our garden or given to us by friends from their gardens. “Garden Cardoon” is the first in the series. Being grown in our backyard and prepared using an Italian recipe, this was the best artichoke I’ve eaten. Amazing that it is part of the thistle family and I wonder how it was found to be edible. The second, “Twilight Satellite” was inspired by a crisp evening, at the end of a late September football practice with my boys, I looked out to see the growing glow of the moon as it hovered over harvested grain fields. It struck me how even the blue sky had fall color scattered it in as if the gravity of the moon was enough to smear earth color heavenward. Both are 8 x 10 inches, acrylic on pressed paper board.
To purchase either of these works contact Full Moon Gallery at (208) 734-ARTS. Artist reception is October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Facial coverings and social distancing are required. Be safe and healthy!
